Chitrakatha 2011 line-up – Persian, Iranian Animation and More

To salute this historical event, Chitakatha’11 is going to sing along with the tune of NID’s golden jubilee celebrations and invite all the friends, connoisseurs and enthusiasts to be part of it. Along with the trusted supporters and partners of this whacky young festival, NID looks forward to more well wishers to help this event grow and glow!
The theme of this year‘s festival is "Back to Basics". Audience will get a chance to revisit the global-local-global scenarios and the future ahead with the past as the lesson to learn and unlearn.
This year’s Chitrakatha comes with an interesting line-up for the 5 day International Student Animation Festival. Among the many things, the Day 1 has an exhibition on Leo Lionni, the veterinary author and illustrator of children’s books and also NID animation alumni presentations. While Day 2 is going to tell ‘Our neighbour‘s story from Bangladesh‘; Day 3 will have presentation by tribal artists, Animation from Iran and also history of Swiss animation.
Day 4 will see a panel discussion about ‘Application of Animation in various areas‘ and ‘Memories of Lain Nain- Music & Tales‘. Cartoon Network and Pogo will talk about the Communication and Branding for Kids Channels across the Asia Pacific on Day 5. The festival will conclude with Award ceremony and felicitation.
Apart from these Chitrakatha 2011 has lot more sessions, screenings, activities lined up for the audience.

3rd Edition of NID‘s COWfest, Chitrakatha 2011 is all set to commence from 19th
October and will conclude on 23rd October 2011 at National Institute of Design‘s
campus at Paladi, Ahmedabad. This year‘s event is very special as NID also completes
