Building Multi-platform Enterprise Mobile Apps - a Case Study
Building apps for multiple devices with the Adobe Flash Platform is the best way to make your apps look beautiful and run like a charm across multiple platforms. This session will cover a case study on how a complex, enterprise grade, high fidelity, customer experience multi-device app was built in record time using Adobe Flex Mobile SDK and Adobe AIR. The session will throw light on the key design considerations, coding practices and UX patterns used to implement this app across multiple form factors along with some of the challenges faced and how they were addressed. In a nutshell - everything about building a real, high-performance app for the device realm using Adobe AIR and Adobe Flex.
Turbocharge your Flex Apps for the Web and Mobile Devices
Adobe Flex and Flash Builder enable developers to write applications for the web, the desktop and mobile devices like iPhone, iPad, Android Phones and the Playbook using a common programming language and code infrastructure. However, writing applications for resource constrained devices requires some performance tuning. While the Flex mobile framework abstracts out most of this complexity, there are several measures that a developer can take to ensure the application performance on the mobile devices is as good as it can get. Additionally, web applications also need to be made as lean as possible to ensure high response and fidelity. Anirudh will provide several methods that explain how a Flex and AS3 developer can optimize his/her application for high performance, both for the web as well as for devices.
Building P2P Apps for Mobile Devices
This session is an insight into the Peer-To-Peer capabilities of AIR for Mobile. Bring about a better user experience and improve efficiency with your apps communicating with each other over the RTMFP protocol, without the need for a server. Take advantage of this capability supported across Playbook, Android and iOS devices, Cloud Sourcing information across varied platforms. Understand Peers, Multicasts, Groups, Directed Routing, et al. The session gives you a kick start in creating Video Chat apps, Multi-Player Games, Data sharing apps and more.
CEM: An Architect's Perspective
In this talk, Adobe Sr. Technical Evangelist Duane Nickull dives deep into the concepts of Customer Experience (CX) and Management (CEM) and how it differs from the architectural discipline of UX. Attendees will then gain knowledge into the requirements of enterprise service platforms to facilitate the implementation of the core concepts of CEM. During this session, Mr. Nickull will also discuss the reconciliation of disparate metadata terms via ontological work and why this is so important for enterprises to understand from a technical and business perspective. |
| 180-Min Workshops - 29 July
Deep Dive into Flex 4.5
Adobe Flex is a highly productive, free, open source framework for building expressive mobile, web, and desktop applications. In this workshop you will learn how to build high fidelity applications using the new, high performance, Flex 4 Spark architecture. The workshop will dive into the organization of the framework, application basics, skinning workflows and also touch upon how you can use this to create applications for multiple devices from one codebase. As a part of this workshop, you will also be exposed to Flash Builder 4.5 which increases developer productivity dramatically for building applications. This workshop will also touch upon extending the Flex framework, through custom components, which enables you to create differentiated experiences. Additionally, if you are a Flex 3 developer, this workshop will also highlight some of the core changes in Flex 3 compared to Flex 4 and point you in the right direction if you need to migrate Flex 3 applications to Flex 4.
Building Rich Enterprise Applications with Adobe LiveCycle ES & Adobe Flex
Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite makes it easier for people to interact with information through intuitive user experiences, improved efficiencies through business process automation, and enhanced customer service through personalized communications management.
During this workshop attendees will learn the basics of LiveCycle ES, a leading enterprise software platform.
